Rep. Myers Secures Bonding Tour Stops to Highlight Clean Water Infrastructure Needs
St. Paul — State Representative Andrew Myers (R–Tonka Bay) has secured Minnesota House bonding tour stops for the cities of Excelsior, Tonka Bay, and Minnetonka Beach, drawing attention to critical clean water infrastructure needs across the Lake Minnetonka community.
Clean water projects remain a top priority for Rep. Myers, who has consistently focused on helping local governments address aging wastewater and water treatment systems. These aging systems can place significant strain on city budgets, leading to sharp increases in local property taxes and threatening access to clean, safe, and reliable drinking water.
During the 2024 legislative session, Rep. Myers helped secure more than $10 million in bonding funding for the City of Mound, supporting essential infrastructure upgrades while easing the burden on local taxpayers.
“These are necessary investments that protect our lakes, ensure safe drinking water, and help keep property taxes stable,” said Rep. Myers. “Addressing infrastructure needs early prevents bigger costs down the road.”
As the Legislature looks ahead to the 2026 session, Rep. Myers will continue advocating for clean water and infrastructure funding throughout the district, including the communities of Minnetrista, Shorewood, Long Lake, and Mound.
By bringing lawmakers directly into local communities through bonding tour stops, Rep. Myers aims to ensure legislators see firsthand the importance of investing in water infrastructure that protects public health, the environment, and taxpayers in the suburbs.
