Neighbors and Friends,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the District 66 virtual town hall meeting on Saturday. We are always impressed by the interest from our constituents and this town hall was no exception. We discussed diverse topics ranging from gun safety legislation to homelessness. Ramsey County Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire also joined us both as a constituent and in her official role. If you were unable to join us, you can watch the town hall here.

I am retiring at the end of the year and want to thank you all for your engagement over my tenure representing our area.

Almanac

On Friday, June 3, I appeared as a panelist on TPT’s Almanac program as part of a segment with retiring legislators. My counterpart was GOP Rep.Tony Albright from Prior Lake. We discussed several issues regarding the recently completed legislative session. You can watch here.

Cleveland Avenue Tree Removal

I joined several neighbors in a Star Tribune Opinion to decry the removal of 160 mature trees along Cleveland Avenue as part of a redesign plan. Sadly, despite intense efforts to stop the plan, tree removal has begun.

Apply for your Frontline Worker Bonus

Workers who were on the frontline of the pandemic have another month to apply for a bonus of up to $750. Money set aside for this program will be split equally among all approved applicants. We all are very appreciative of those who put themselves in harm’s way and encourage them to apply if eligible and to spread the word to friends and family.
