Rep. Tina Liebling Votes For, House Passes Bills to Improve Access to Affordable Child Care

Tuesday, February 14, 2023

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Today, the Minnesota House passed two bills to improve access to affordable child care and early learning. HF 13 increases the maximum rates for all Child Care Assistance Program-eligible children. HF 150 delivers a $52.5 million emergency investment in child care stabilization grants and early learning scholarships. Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL - Rochester) voted for the legislation.

“Investing in early care and learning for Minnesota’s children is the best way to ensure they have a bright future, and that parents can participate in the workforce. That’s why I’m proud to support these two bills,” said Rep. Liebling. “By prioritizing child care we are making it a little easier for families to get by. These are smart investments. I will continue to support legislation that supports families and children.”

Video of the floor debate can be viewed on the House Public Information’s YouTube Channel. The Senate’s companion bill is moving through the committee process.
