Legislative Update (Nov. 18, 2016)

Friday, November 18, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

With election season over, we’re now free to start sending out email updates from the Capitol. It’s been a couple months since my last update, and I look forward to keeping you informed as we head toward the next legislative session. There’s a lot of work to do when we return to St. Paul, and I’m honored to continue to represent you and your family.

Looking Ahead

It wasn’t that long ago we finished the 2016 session, and the new session is just around the corner. We’ll pick up where we left off; working to provide middle-class tax relief and road and bridge funding. Obamacare and MNsure are also causing great concern for families across the state, and we need to look for common-sense solutions to these unaffordable costs. The 2017 Legislative Session will no doubt be busy and a number of issues will be before us. I hope you’ll share your insight on these issues.

Local News

Earlier this week, I took part in a ribbon-cutting for a new AT&T retailer on Hanson Blvd. We always appreciate when businesses choose our area to call home. It helps provide jobs for our residents, and makes our district even more vibrant.
