Neighbors,

I hope your summer is going well. Several laws we passed in the 2023 legislative session will go into effect on Saturday, July 1. New laws include increases in funding for agriculture, education, renewable energy, public safety, and elections. Among the key measures taking effect are free school breakfast and lunch for all K-12 students, protecting health care workers against violence, limits on no-knock warrants, free college tuition for income-eligible students, and more.

House DFLers crafted bills this session to help everyone thrive and succeed. I appreciated your input as we built our budget. To read more from nonpartisan House Public Information and House Research about the new laws, click here and here.

Minnesota Military Radio

I was recently a guest on Minnesota Military Radio. As chair of the House Veterans & Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee, I appreciated the focus on legislation we passed this year to impact veterans and their families. I thank everyone involved in the broadcast. Take a listen to the episode here.
