Co-Chair Franson, Bonding Committee Begin First Capital Investment Tour Saint Paul, MN - Tomorrow, Co-Chair Mary Franson and members of the House Capital Investment Committee will begin a three-day bonding tour of Northwest and Central Minnesota to review proposed infrastructure projects. Lawmakers will travel through several counties to see firsthand the needs of local communities and gather input for the next bonding bill. The tour includes key stops from the Twin Cities area out to the Northwestern part of the state:
Morrison County – Camp Ripley Veterans Military Museum and Mississippi River Bridge project (Little Falls) Crow Wing County – Central Lakes College, Brainerd Public Utilities Water Treatment Facility, DNR Wildfire Tanker Base (Brainerd Airport) Stearns/Benton Counties – Central Minnesota Healthcare Hub (Sartell), St. Cloud State University, Waite Park Ledge Amphitheater, Benton County CSAH 1 Safety Improvements
Beltrami County – BCA Laboratory, Bemidji State University, Lake Bemidji wastewater and regional jail/education projects Mahnomen County – Mahnomen Hospital Pennington County – Thief River Falls Airport and regional water infrastructure projects Red Lake County – Red Lake County Courthouse and infrastructure rehabilitation Polk County – University of Minnesota Crookston campus and flood mitigation projects Clay County – Clay County Detention Center, Moorhead Fire Station 1, Minnesota State University Moorhead
Otter Tail County – Fergus Falls Veterans Home Douglas County – Alexandria Technical and Community College, Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District Pope County – 210th Avenue reconstruction (Glenwood) Input gathered during these site visits helps lawmakers understand the needs of communities across the state and will guide the committee’s bonding recommendations for the upcoming legislative session. “These tours are an important way for lawmakers to see the projects and hear directly from local leaders,” Co-Chair Franson said. “Seeing these sites in person helps us understand the needs and make informed decisions about how to invest taxpayer dollars responsibly.” This tour is the first in a series of statewide visits that will take lawmakers to communities across Minnesota. Over the coming months, the Capital Investment Committee will continue traveling to other regions to hear directly from local leaders, review proposed projects, and gather the information needed to shape a responsible bonding bill that reflects the priorities and needs of the entire state. ### |
