McDonald Takes Oath of Office, Announces Committee Assignments for 2025-2026 Legislative SessionST. PAUL – Today, Representative Joe McDonald (R – Delano) performed his eighth oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives as the 94th Legislature was installed at the Capitol. “I’m both honored and humbled to continue representing the people of our area in the House,” said McDonald. “Every day, I’m reminded of the trust the people have placed in me, and I take that responsibility very seriously. My commitment to our community has only grown stronger, and I will continue to do my best to provide constituents with a strong, unwavering presence at the Capitol as I advocate for the best interests of our families, our businesses, and our future.” Most of Rep. McDonald’s work during the first months of session will occur in House committees. For the 2025-2026 legislative biennium, McDonald will serve as the lead Republican on the Legacy Finance Committee. He has also been assigned to the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee, as well as the Elections Finance and Government Operations Committee. “As we head into the 2025 Legislative Session, there is no shortage of challenges that need to be addressed. Our focus this session is on making smart, common-sense decisions that prioritize the needs of Minnesotans, from reducing the burden on local schools to cutting unnecessary regulations that stifle growth.
