ST. PAUL – Today the Minnesota House, not having reached a supermajority vote as required by the state constitution, failed to pass its bonding bill. Three days remain to pass bills in the legislative session.
Representative Carly Melin (DFL – Hibbing) released the following statement:
“With hundreds of construction workers out of work on the Iron Range, it is disappointing that priority MnSCU projects like the Hibbing Community College were left out of the bill. We can and should craft a bonding bill that builds Minnesota from border-to-border.”
The bonding bill, which requires 81 votes to pass, failed 69-64.
