Dear Neighbors,

We are on break for the Easter/Passover holiday. This week marks the holiest of weeks for Christians. I come into this weekend reminded that Jesus was facing imminent death by the Romans. A death philosophized and expected, but nonetheless, death.

I am grateful that we still pause all of our activities in St. Paul this week to respect the traditions surrounding the death of Christ. For my family, this is a time of prayerful reflection and discussion about our faith and the meaning Christ’s resurrection brings to our lives. It is humbling and powerful and much needed. To be honest, I frequently need to be reminded that my human failures can be overcome with faith and divine promise.

To you and your families, I wish you a blessed Easter weekend. I hope for families to come together and find strength through any difficulties they are facing. Family strength can be powerful. We need more families to come together and repair the cracks in the foundation of society. And if you are looking for some mortar to fill those cracks and bring the foundation back together—mix in some faith and divinity with tears, blood and sweat from the resurrection and those cracks will be filled with spiritual adhesive that creates an eternal bond.

I also want to take a moment to thank the people I serve. It is an honor to hear your stories and to carry your voice in St. Paul. Please continue to send me your concerns and suggestions. Many of the ideas I have carried into legislation have come directly from people in District 9B.

Many blessings!
