Dear Neighbors,
This week, a provision I authored in the supplemental budget bill that provides a full state income tax exemption of pensions for retired veterans was signed into law by Governor Dayton.
I was honored to have authored this historic provision that has been decades in the making. Nearly 18,000 retired vets living in Minnesota will no longer pay state taxes on the pensions they earned in service to our nation.
This is a huge victory for our state!
