Celebrating 250 Years

Friends,

A Fourth of July spent with family, under the flag, in the land God has blessed us with is about as good a reminder as any of what makes America worth loving.

Here in northern Minnesota, we don’t have to look far to see the blessings of this country. We see them in the lakes and woods, in churches filled with families, in kids growing up with room to explore, and in parents and grandparents passing down stories, values, and traditions that still matter.

As America marks 250 years of independence, I’m grateful for a nation founded on the belief that liberty comes from God and that free people have both rights and responsibilities. That truth has guided our country through difficult chapters and carried us into moments of extraordinary achievement.

America has always been willing to look beyond the horizon. We built communities from the ground up, defended freedom and toppled tyrants, reached the skies, and then reached beyond them.

That spirit of courage and possibility still belongs to us, but it won’t carry forward on its own.

Our children will shape the next chapter of America, but they should not be expected to do that without our support and example. We have a duty to leave this nation in better standing than we found it, to strengthen the families and communities they will inherit, and to secure a bright future for decades to come.

That means striving for new heights, holding ourselves to higher standards, and remaining committed to the values that have brought America this far: faith, family, liberty, duty, and love of country.

I’m thankful to celebrate this Independence Day with the people of our district, and I’m optimistic about the future we can build together.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.
