St. Paul, MN – On Monday, a ruling from the Chief Administrative Law Judge of the Court of Administrative Hearings approved the Minnesota Department of Education’s revised proposed Health Standards rule. The House’s respective Education Finance and Policy DFL Chairs, Reps. Cheryl Youakim (DFL-Hopkins) and Sydney Jordan (DFL-Minneapolis), praised the decision and released the following statement:
“Every student deserves a well-rounded education, and that includes learning how to stay physically and mentally healthy. After years of student advocacy, we’re grateful for the incorporation of their voices and input into the comprehensive statewide health standards that were just approved. These standards were developed through the standard two-year process that included input from licensed teachers, health professionals, parents of school-aged-children, business leaders, students from the Minnesota Youth Council, as well as others.”
