SAINT PAUL, MN - Following the announcement from Marathon that they will begin hiring new employees to replace current workers on strike, Rep. Keith Franke, R-St. Paul Park, sent a letter to Amy Macak urging the company to return to the negotiating table. The full letter can be read here.
"I am deeply concerned for the consequences for our surrounding communities if Marathon and the Teamsters do not reach an agreement," said Rep. Franke. "While I know this was not an easy decision for the company, the ramifications for our families, as well as other small businesses, could be devastating if striking workers are permanently replaced. I hope all parties are able to come together to avoid any drastic actions."
