Legislative Update - February 25, 2022

Dear Neighbors, 

We’re about a month into this year’s legislative session, and last evening we passed an important bill for Minnesota’s frontline workers off the House floor. During the darkest days of the pandemic, these are the workers that kept our state running. Many didn’t have a work from home option, and often put themselves and their families at risk in high-exposure jobs. The bill we passed would provide at least 667,000 frontline workers bonus checks of up to $1,500.

We owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude, which is why I was proud to vote for the bonus checks they earned.

Shout out to the frontline workers that joined us yesterday!

Yesterday’s bill was definitely the highlight of the week, but I also presented my bill to fund  after-school programs in committee, which I previewed during last week’s legislative update.
