Rep. Jeff Brand votes to pass Driver’s Licenses for All off House Floor

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Yesterday, the Minnesota House voted to pass HF 4, known as “Driver’s Licenses for All” off the House floor. The bill, co-led by Rep. Aisha Gomez (DFL - Minneapolis) and Rep. Maria Isa Pérez-Vega (DFL - Saint Paul), would allow Minnesotans to once again obtain a driver’s license regardless of citizenship status. Rep. Jeff Brand (DFL – Saint Peter) voted for the bill.

"In rural Minnesota, no matter where you live, you’re 10 miles away from something. You have to drive,” said Rep. Jeff Brand. “I want everyone on the road to have a driver’s license and insurance. I voted for this bill to make sure everyone can get to the grocery store, pick up their kids from school, and complete other errands we need to do in our everyday lives.”

In the Senate, the bill is making its way through committee hearings.
