Rep. Noor

Neighbors,

Governor?Walz?has announced that the current stay at home order will expire this Monday, May 18th,?and will be replaced with an order allowing for more businesses to reopen as well as other changes. The governor also extended the current peacetime emergency?through June 12th. Select committee announced

After session adjourns, we will likely have more issues to consider related to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read more about the select committee in this Session Daily article

Voting security

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that every voter feels safe casting a ballot. Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon has introduced a new tool for registered voters to request their ballot be sent to them by mail for the August 11 statewide primary and/or the November 3 general election.?

Request your absentee ballot here. The online application will ask for an e-mail address and an identification number, either a Minnesota-issued driver's license, Minnesota ID card, or last 4 digits of Social Security Number.

You can check your voter registration status online. You can also register or update your voter registration online.

MNDOT news on the weekend closure of the Third Avenue Bridge:

Beginning at 10 pm on Fri, May 15 through 5 am on Mon, May 18, the Third Avenue Bridge will be fully closed so crews can prepare for the upcoming bridge work. Starting on Mon, May 18, the Third Avenue Bridge will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. MnDOT crews will be repairing the bridge. A transit-only center lane will support buses traveling in or out of Downtown Minneapolis. Pedestrians and bicyclists will share protected sidewalks on the bridge. Traffic will not be detoured at this time, but we encourage commuters to plan and expect delays during peak travel times.
