Release: Representative Mary Frances Clardy takes the oath of office

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The 2023 Minnesota legislative session convened on Tuesday in Saint Paul. Rep. Mary Frances Clardy (DFL – Inver Grove Heights) took the oath of office to begin her first term in the Minnesota House. House District 53A encompasses Inver Grove Heights, West Saint Paul, Lilydale, Sunfish Lake, and a portion of Mendota Heights.

“I’m thrilled to have the support of and partnership with my community to get to work on the big challenges our state is facing, ensuring all our neighbors and families can thrive,” said Rep. Clardy. “Tackling health care – especially mental health care – affordability and accessibility, making sure our kids can unlock the tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom, and investing in affordable, safe housing are just a few of the many issues we must address.”

This session, Rep. Clardy has been appointed as the vice chair of the Education Finance Committee, while also serving on the Sustainable Infrastructure, Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy, and Human Services Finance committees.
