Release: Inver Grove Heights and West Saint Paul nursing homes benefiting from over $1.1 million in new state funding

Friday, August 11, 2023

St. Paul, MN – State Representative Mary Frances Clardy (DFL-Inver Grove Heights) announced that on Aug. 1, local nursing homes received a significant amount of new state funding as part of a bipartisan agreement to stabilize a sector of the economy facing financial hardship. Local nursing homes will receive another significant one-time payment on Aug. 1, 2024.

Representative Mary Frances Clardy (53A), who represents Inver Grove Heights and portions of West Saint Paul in the Minnesota House of Representatives celebrated the announcement.

“Our nursing homes took a tremendous hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Minnesotans have been loud and clear this year about the need to act urgently to deliver aid for our elders,” said Rep. Clardy. “Older Minnesotans who rely on quality elder care deserve our support, which is why I was glad to vote in support of directing this funding to our area.”

Of these initial investments, $1,030,348 have been delivered to nursing homes in District 53 on Aug. 1, including:

  • $554,316 to Southview Acres Health Care Center in West Saint Paul.
  • $271,152 to Woodlyn Heights Healthcare Center in Inver Grove Heights.
  • $204,880 to Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights.
