SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Following comments on social media from President Donald Trump suggesting Minnesotans “fight back” against the state’s Somali community, Rep. Samakab Hussein (DFL - Saint Paul) issued the following statement:
“This rhetoric is dangerous, divisive, and beneath the dignity of public leadership. No Minnesotan should be targeted because of their ethnicity, faith, or immigration story. We can confront crime, fraud, and public safety challenges without blaming an entire community. Minnesota is strongest when we stand together and uphold equal dignity, accountability, and the rule of law for everyone.”
