It's great having special visitors on the House floor during the legislative session. Dear Friends and Neighbors, Greetings from the House where we soon expect to be passing numerous bills to help local residents and all Minnesotans. House Republicans have spent most of our time this session focusing on ways to improve affordability in Minnesota, fight fraud that’s crushing taxpayers, and increasing accountability in state programs to make sure our agencies are doing their part to be good stewards of tax dollars. Now, we are set to deliver positive results on these three areas and more this weekend at the Capitol before our deadline to adjourn on Monday. Bipartisanship is necessary for any bill to pass the tied House and that’s required us to take a real problem-solver’s approach. We now have an agreement in hand that addresses key House Republican priorities, including combating fraud, providing property tax relief, improving school safety, cutting car tab fees, delivering relief for counties, supporting hospitals and health care access throughout Minnesota, modernizing government systems to help counties and more. I will provide a closer look at this session’s most important victories (including some big local wins) as we hammer out the details and pass bills over the weekend before our Monday deadline to adjourn. This session’s accomplishments, added to last year’s positive results, show that House Republicans have done well to restore balance in Minnesota after two-years of one-party control in St. Paul got us off track.
