Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday! This year, as America marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, I’ve been thinking less about politics and more about responsibility. A country like ours doesn’t carry itself forward. It depends on people who are willing to care about the places right in front of them: their families, their neighborhoods, their schools, their churches, their small businesses, their lakes, and the communities they hope their children will one day call home. America has faced plenty of difficult chapters, but we’ve continued to move forward because generation after generation chose to build, serve, repair, create, and believe the future was still worth working toward. That same responsibility belongs to us now. As a dad, I want my kids to grow up with a real appreciation for this country, not as something abstract or distant, but as the place that gives them the freedom to learn, work, speak, dream, and build a life of their own. On America’s 250th birthday, I’m grateful for what we’ve inherited and hopeful about what we can leave behind. Happy Fourth of July!
