Schwartz Takes Oath of Office, Announces Committee Assignments for 2025-2026 Legislative Session ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s 2025 Legislative Session officially began today as Representative Erica Schwartz (R – Nicollet) and 66 other Republican state representatives took the oath of office during a ceremony held at the State Capitol in St. Paul. “It is both an honor and a responsibility to serve the people of District 18A in the Minnesota House of Representatives,” said Schwartz. “As a first-year legislator, I am excited to bring a fresh perspective to the work being done in St. Paul. I am deeply committed to advocating for the needs of our community, prioritizing policies that ensure our schools, healthcare, and economy are positioned for long-term success.” Most of Rep. Schwartz’s work during the first months of session will occur in House committees. For the 2025-2026 legislative biennium, Schwartz will serve as the Republican Vice Chair on the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. She has also been assigned to the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, as well as the Taxes Committee. “I am focused on making sure that Minnesota’s working families have access to the resources they need to thrive,” Schwartz continued. “Whether it’s improving our public education system, ensuring access to quality healthcare, or promoting economic growth that benefits all communities, my work in the House will be driven by what’s best for the people I represent. I look forward to working with my fellow legislators to achieve solutions that move Minnesota forward in a meaningful and sustainable way.” Rep. Schwartz encourages constituents in District 18A to stay involved and reach out if they have any legislative questions or concerns.
