Legislative Update

I hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love and appreciation! As we celebrate this season of kindness, I’m also excited to share that House Republicans have just wrapped up our first full week in the majority since 2018—and what a week it’s been!

It’s an exciting time here at the Capitol as we’ve been hitting the ground running, pushing key pieces of legislation through the early steps of the process. With a renewed sense of purpose and determination, we’re working hard to bring forward policies that will benefit Minnesotans and help shape a brighter future for our state. Stay tuned for more updates on our progress, and thank you for your continued support as we get to work!

Making Waves: The Lafayette Water Treatment Plant Bonding Bill

1

Excited to drop my Lafayette Water Treatment Plant bonding bill—key legislation that aims to secure nearly $1.9 million for crucial upgrades to the water treatment plant in Lafayette. This bill is set to make a big splash in ensuring clean, safe water for our community!

Bipartisan Bars: A Sweet Start to Cooperation

1

This week Governor Tim Walz and first lady Gwen Walz visited the House chamber to share their "bipartisan bars" with House members. It was a great opportunity to visit about upcoming legislation and I look forward to working together to get things done for the people of Minnesota.

Standing Up for Fairness in Girls Sports

1

This week, I stook with my fellow House Republican colleagues as we took action and sent a letter to the Executive Director of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) to demand answers about their decision not to comply with President Trump’s Executive Order protecting girls’ sports here in Minnesota.

We stand with the vast majority of Minnesotans who believe in ensuring fairness, safety, and equality in girls’ athletics. Every young female athlete deserves a level playing field, and we’re committed to making sure that happens.

This isn’t just about sports—it’s about protecting the hard-earned opportunities that generations of young girls have fought for. We won’t stand by while those opportunities are threatened. We’re in this fight for justice, fairness, and equal opportunities, ensuring that all girls can compete in a safe, supportive environment. Minnesotans deserve to have their voices heard, and we won’t back down from this battle for what’s right!

Working Together for Stronger Communities

1

This week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Susan Arndt, the City Manager for Mankato, to discuss how we can collaborate on legislation that will make a real difference for residents in our community. It was a productive conversation, full of ideas on how we can work together to address the city's needs and improve the quality of life for everyone who calls Mankato home.

From infrastructure to public safety and everything in between, we’re looking at how state resources can support the city’s priorities and create opportunities for growth and prosperity. I’m excited about the potential for what we can accomplish together and the positive impact it will have on Mankato’s future.

As always, my commitment is to work alongside local leaders like Susan to ensure we’re pushing forward solutions that matter most to you, the residents. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make strides for Mankato!
