Legislative UpdateDear friends and neighbors, What a week it’s been! Between getting out and about in the community and rolling up my sleeves at my store here in Nicollet, I’m reminded every day how lucky I am to represent our wonderful corner of Minnesota. Owning a gas station right here in our community gives me a front-row seat to the real stories and challenges you face—and it’s those everyday conversations that fuel my passion for serving you. Whether it’s tackling big issues at the Capitol or celebrating small victories around town, your voice guides everything I do. Now, let’s dive into what’s been happening this week—from Ribfest fun to important conversations about the future of our state. There’s a lot to share, and I’m glad you’re here to read along!
Bringing Social Services to the Table!![]() Last week, I had the pleasure of joining the Minnesota Social Service Association for a wonderful legislative breakfast! Over coffee and conversation, we dug into the critical work being done in communities across our state—and how we can better support it. I left the meeting energized and ready to carry your advocacy forward into next session. During our discussion, I highlighted the need for targeted funding to improve the Social Services Information System (SSIS), which plays a vital role in supporting frontline workers. I also emphasized the growing need for investments in mental health services—because expanding access to social service centers across Minnesota isn’t just a good idea—it’s a must. I’m committed to making sure these essential resources are prioritized.
Honoring 40 Years of Caring at the St. Peter Food Shelf![]() On Tuesday, I had the honor of joining community members in celebrating 40 years of the Saint Peter Area Food Shelf—a place that has become so much more than a food shelf. It’s a lifeline. It’s a reflection of our community’s compassion. And now, it’s officially recognized as a Super Shelf—a well-earned title for an organization that has gone above and beyond to meet people where they’re at. The open house was filled with warmth. From the Chamber Diplomats’ ribbon cutting to the hallway exhibit sharing photos and stories from the past four decades, it was a powerful reminder of just how much this community has given—and continues to give. Volunteers, past and present, were honored for their tireless work. There were smiles, a few happy tears, and a strong sense of pride in what’s been built together. To everyone who has played a role in supporting the St. Peter Food Shelf over the years: thank you! Your heart for service has made a lasting difference. Here's to 40 years of showing up for one another—and to many more ahead! ![]()
Ribs, Rockin’ Music, and Family Time![]() Amidst the hustle of a busy week, I feel so blessed to have been able to sneak in a little family fun—and what better way to do that than with some delicious barbecue! My kiddos and I had a blast at the Ribs R Rockin’ Rib Fest, hosted by the Nicollet Chamber of Commerce. The food was incredible, the music was lively, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter, community, and full bellies. It was the perfect reminder of how special these moments are—and how grateful I am to live, serve, and raise my family in a place that values togetherness. Huge thanks to the Chamber and all the organizers who made the event such a hit! ![]()
Grateful to Stand with the Nicollet County Farm Bureau![]() I had the real pleasure of joining the Nicollet County Farm Bureau for their annual meeting earlier this week—and what a fantastic group of folks! These are the people who keep our fields growing, our tables full, and our communities thriving. It was an honor to get up there and share how, this session, we’ve rolled up our sleeves and worked hand-in-hand to show up for our Ag community. Whether it’s fighting for fair policies, protecting our farmland, or pushing for resources that help our farmers succeed, I’m proud of the progress we’re making together. Being part of this incredible organization isn’t just about agriculture—it’s about family, hard work, and a shared commitment to the land we all love. Thank you, Nicollet County Farm Bureau, for welcoming me in and for everything you do every single day. I’m proud to stand with you!
Together, We Make This Community StrongAs we continue moving through this beautiful Minnesota summer and head into fall, I want to thank you for staying engaged and sharing your stories with me.
