Rep. Erica Schwartz Statement on Tragic Shooting at Annunciation Catholic School ST. PAUL – Representative Erica Schwartz, R-Nicollet, released the following statement after the tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in South Minneapolis: “Like so many Minnesotans, I am heartbroken by the senseless act of violence that took place yesterday. My prayers are with the children, families, teachers, and staff whose lives have been forever changed. To the first responders, hospital workers, and faith leaders who stepped in to serve during this moment of crisis—thank you for your courage and compassion.
As a mom, I cannot begin to imagine the pain of sending your child to school and never seeing them come home. Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream in a classroom that is safe.
In the face of this tragedy, we are reminded of the need to come together as neighbors and as people of faith. May we comfort those who mourn, lift up those who are hurting, and work with determination to ensure our schools are places of safety and hope. Our children’s future depends on it.”
