Interim News Dear friends and neighbors, I hope everyone who went out had a safe and successful opening hunting weekend! While I stayed on solid ground this year, I loved hearing stories from friends and neighbors who did get out—and there’s something about the crisp fall air and the first touches of golden sunlight that makes this season feel extra special. As the dust settles in Washington with the end of the federal government shutdown, it feels like the right time to pause, breathe, and take stock of what really matters. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on how fortunate we are—fortunate for our beautiful state, for the freedoms we enjoy, and for the communities that make this corner of Minnesota such a wonderful place to call home. And as we gather with family and friends this season, let’s also remember to look around at our communities. A kind word, a helping hand, or simply checking in on someone who might be struggling can ripple far beyond what we see. We have so much to be thankful for—and so many ways to share that gratitude with the people around us! Honoring Our VeteransOn Tuesday, we celebrated our heroes across Minnesota, and across the United States. On this Veterans Day, we paused to honor the brave men and women who answered the call to serve—not for recognition, not for reward, but out of love for God, family, and country. Their courage protected our freedoms and preserved the promise of America for generations. To every veteran, especially those carrying the invisible wounds of combat, your sacrifice was remembered and deeply appreciated. May God grant you strength, peace, and healing, and may we, as a grateful nation, never have taken your service for granted. God bless our veterans, and God bless the United States of America! A Day on the Hill with District 18A On Thursday, I had the wonderful opportunity to welcome District 18A constituents to the Capitol for Constituent Day on the Hill! It was such an amazing chance to spend one-on-one time with folks from our district, give them an inside look at our day-to-day responsibilities when we’re in session, and take them on an extended, private tour of the Capitol. Thank you to everyone who came out, shared your stories, and voiced your concerns for our state and district. It means so much that you continue to trust me to represent our special corner of Minnesota. Having you in St. Paul was truly a highlight of the week—I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Touring Local Industry in Our District I had a great time today joining Congressman Brad Finstad on a tour of a Pepsi distribution plant right here in our district. It was fascinating to see the supply chain in action—from start to finish—and to get a real sense of what it takes to keep everything running smoothly. A huge thank you to the hardworking men and women in these facilities who make it all happen. Your dedication and effort keep our communities moving, and it was inspiring to see it up close! Until Next Time...Before I sign off, I just want to take a moment to say thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for taking the time to read these updates and for trusting me to represent our corner of Minnesota. It’s a true privilege, and I feel honored every single day to serve this incredible community. Hearing from you, seeing your stories, and learning what matters most in your lives is what makes this work so meaningful. As always, I’m just an email or phone call away. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to listen, to help, and to keep working hard for you and our district. Minnesota is more than a place on the map; it’s our home, our communities, and our shared future. I’m grateful to walk that path alongside each of you. Until next time, friends—take care, stay warm, and may the days ahead be filled with good company, good conversation, and plenty to be thankful for. Sincerely, Representative Erica Schwartz Minnesota House of Representatives, District 18A |
