Rep. Stier Statement on York County Officers Killed and Wounded in the Line of Duty
Saint Paul – Representative Terry Stier (R-Belle Plaine) issued the following statement after news that three law enforcement officers were killed and two others wounded while serving a warrant in York County, Pennsylvania:
“Policing is dangerous work, and the men and women who wear the badge put their lives on the line every single day to keep our neighborhoods safe. My heart breaks for the officers who were killed and for those who were wounded in this tragic incident.
To the families and communities mourning in York County, you have my deepest sympathies and prayers. To the wounded, I pray for healing and a full recovery. To every law enforcement officer in Minnesota and across the country, I honor your courage and commitment to service. You deserve the respect, tools, and support to do your jobs safely and effectively.
That also means speaking out against reckless decisions by county attorneys and other officials who strip away the tools law enforcement relies on to protect our communities. These choices only make an already dangerous profession even more perilous. Minnesotans deserve leaders who stand with law enforcement and put community safety first.”
