3/4/2025
1. HF 135 (Myers) – Consecutive sentences required for assaults committed by certain inmates of local facilities.

2. HF 7 (Novotny) – Public safety; various public safety provisions modified related to data held by law enforcement agencies, agency custody notice requirements, mandatory minimum sentences, stays of adjudication, the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission, legislative approval of Sentencing Guidelines, dismissing of charges, liability and vicarious liability, crime for trespass recruiting or educating, assaulting a police officer, fleeing in a motor vehicle, stolen motor vehicles, obstructing traffic, tracking devices, criminal penalties, and money appropriated.

Note: HF 7 was heard on February 11 and testimony was taken at that hearing. No additional testimony will be taken. The Fiscal Note has been received so the bill will be re-referred to Ways and Means.

3. HF 327 (Engen) – Penalty for introducing contraband into a correctional facility increased.

4. HF 1399 (Witte) – Commissioner of corrections required to maintain a supply of opiate antagonists to administer to persons who overdose in correctional facilities, and commissioner required to provide training to employees on how to administer opiate antagonists.

5. HF 1410 (Witte) – Local correctional officers provided in Peace Officers Discipline Procedures Act.

6. HF 538 (Stier) – Use of deadly force by peace officer to protect person from apparent death modified.

5. HF 340 (Stier) Crime of fleeing peace officer in motor vehicle modified to add heightened penalty for fleeing in culpably negligent manner, crime of fleeing in motor vehicle and failing to obey certain traffic laws established, and expanded use of tracking devices authorized

6. HF 962 (Novotny) Brady-Giglio Task Force. Note: HF 962 will be the vehicle bill for a delete-all amendment on a Brady-Giglio policy bill. The delete-all will be posted as soon as it is available.

HF 750 (Robbins) Driver's license suspensions expanded to include all cases where a person is believed to have committed criminal vehicular homicide or criminal vehicular operation, and peace officers required to report all cases where a person is believed to have committed vehicular homicide or criminal vehicular operation.

5. HF 491 (Hill) Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel provided funding for mental health services and outdoor activities, and money appropriated.
