Dear Neighbors,

This was a busy week at the State Capitol, and it’s not likely to let up soon as we only have 10 days to complete our legislative work.

On Wednesday, I joined my fellow legislative leaders on Capital Investment to not only highlight the dire need for a bill that invests in local jobs and infrastructure improvements, but one that specifically includes funding for the removal of lead service pipes.

No amount of lead is safe. It’s going to take action at all levels of government to build a world in which Minnesota is finally lead-free. That means passing regular, dependable Capital Investment bills that can lend a helping hand to communities in every corner of our state.

You can watch some of my remarks from our press conference here.

Removing these lead pipes should be a priority for every single legislator. We don’t have much time left in the legislative session, but it’s more than enough time if we get serious about passing this bill now.

The Upper Harbor Terminal

It’s been a long time coming, but on Monday, I joined local leaders in finally breaking ground on the Upper Harbor Terminal’s amphitheater project!

I have been fighting for ways to better connect North Minneapolis to the riverfront, and this project is a massive step forward in that goal. It’s taken cooperation at all levels of government, and there’s still work left to do, but we are moving forward!

This amphitheater will be an incredible asset to our community, as well as the entire city! I look forward to the day I can bring my family to an outdoor concert right in our own backyard.

Passing Bills Off the House Floor

We continue to pass bipartisan legislation off the House Floor. Due to the tied House, I can confidently say none of these bills are perfect. But that is the nature of compromise. I know if my DFL colleagues and I had the final say, we’d be delivering much more support to our communities, but these bills do make small steps in the right direction.

This week, we passed the following bills:

There’s much more work we need to do in these final days, but I’m glad some progress is still being made.

Stay Connected

With only 10 days left in the legislative session, now is a great time to touch base. Please reach out with any questions, comments, or ideas you have on how to make North Minneapolis or Minnesota better. My work is at its best when it’s rooted in your needs.

Additionally, my colleagues and I in the House DFL have put together a constituent survey. If you have a brief moment, I’d really appreciate you taking it to let us know about the issues and values most important to you.

You can take our 2026 Constituent Survey here.

As always, you can reach me at rep.fue.lee@house.mn.gov or 651-296-4262.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Fue Lee
