This amphitheater will be an incredible asset to our community, as well as the entire city! I look forward to the day I can bring my family to an outdoor concert right in our own backyard. You can read more about Monday’s groundbreaking here. Passing Bills Off the House Floor We continue to pass bipartisan legislation off the House Floor. Due to the tied House, I can confidently say none of these bills are perfect. But that is the nature of compromise. I know if my DFL colleagues and I had the final say, we’d be delivering much more support to our communities, but these bills do make small steps in the right direction. This week, we passed the following bills: - The establishment of the Office of Inspector General, aimed at combatting fraud and ensuring public dollars are used as intended.
- An Elections Bill that improves efficiency, clarifies procedures, and reduces costs in Minnesota’s elections system.
- The Payment Transparency Act, which helps subcontractors get paid.
- A supplemental Public Safety budget that focuses on community-based crime victim services, like emergency shelters and legal advocacy.
- A Higher Ed Bill that takes on “ghost students,” which are individuals, often using stolen identities, that steal financial aid.
- A Housing Bill that, while staying budget-neutral, would expand affordable housing units in our state.
There’s much more work we need to do in these final days, but I’m glad some progress is still being made. Stay Connected With only 10 days left in the legislative session, now is a great time to touch base. Please reach out with any questions, comments, or ideas you have on how to make North Minneapolis or Minnesota better. My work is at its best when it’s rooted in your needs. Additionally, my colleagues and I in the House DFL have put together a constituent survey. If you have a brief moment, I’d really appreciate you taking it to let us know about the issues and values most important to you. You can take our 2026 Constituent Survey here. As always, you can reach me at rep.fue.lee@house.mn.gov or 651-296-4262. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Fue Lee State Representative |
