Dear Friends,
Today we honor those who selflessly wore our nation’s uniform to defend our freedoms. Freedom is not free. Our veterans know this better than anyone else. Let us take today to celebrate our veterans and their sacrifices to defend America. May they always know the love and respect of a grateful nation.
There are Veterans Day celebrations happening across our community today. I encourage you to attend with your families and honor all those who served. Events include:
- Veterans Day Ceremony at Alexandria Veterans Memorial Park to honor Max Beilke, George Larson, and Leonard Jaker. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. A free lunch will immediately follow the ceremony at the Alexandria VFW Post 936.
- Veterans Day program presented by the Osakis VFW Post 7902 will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Osakis Public Schools auditorium. The concert band and high school choir will perform and Pastor Donald Wagner will be the speaker.
