RELEASE: Robbins Urges High School Juniors to Apply for House Page Program

Friday, October 8, 2021

SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Kristin Robbins, R-Maple Grove, encourages all high school juniors to apply for the House High School Page Program where they will be able to spend a week working behind the scenes at the Capitol.

Applications to the Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program are open thru November 23 for the 2022 session. A dozen, week-long slots are available from early February until mid-May and stipends are available to defray expenses.

“I strongly encourage high school juniors interested in government, politics, and public service to apply for the House High School Page Program,” said Robbins. “This is a unique opportunity for students where they will be able to attend meetings with legislators, constitutional officers, members of the judiciary, and others. Pages will assist members and staff during House floor sessions and participate in mock committee hearings. I hope students in our community will take advantage of this special program.”

Program participants are selected through a formal process which includes an application, one faculty letter of recommendation and an essay. More information is at www.house.leg.state.mn.us/sergeant/introduction, or by calling (651) 296-7452. Local schools also can provide further assistance.
