Dear Neighbors,

This Saturday, June 27th at noon, I’ll be joining my District 60 Colleagues for a Legislative Town Hall. This will be a great opportunity for us to discuss this year’s legislative session - what we accomplished, the progress we protected, and the crucial work that remains - but we also want to hear from you!

Feel free to bring any thoughts, questions, concerns, or ideas you have to help make our community and state a better place. We’ll be at the Logan Park Recreation Center from noon to 1:30pm.

There’s no shortage of important issues for us to discuss. Our community, city, and state have gone through a lot in the last year, but we’ve gotten through these tough times by working together.

At the State Capitol, some progress was made, but Republicans in our tied House blocked many of the solutions necessary to adequately meet the moment we’re in. We must do more to address gun violence, to support and protect those impacted by Operation Metro Surge, and to make life more affordable in our state. We will never stop fighting for these values.

Despite Republican obstruction, with your help, we still managed to deliver results this legislative session. $40 million in rental assistance will help those impacted by ICE’s invasion of our state. The lifeline we delivered to HCMC will ensure this crucial hospital will continue to support our community and the entire state. We also passed a $1.2 billion infrastructure bill that builds on my efforts to replace all of Minnesota’s lead pipes, and also invests $8 million for flood mitigation along 13th Avenue - and millions more in building a better Minneapolis.

There’s much more work to do, but it’s work I’m honored to do alongside our neighbors. Regardless of whether you can join us this weekend, always feel free to contact my office for assistance. It’s an honor to represent our community.

In solidarity,

Sydney Jordan
