Saint Paul, MN – Today, Dolores Huerta, Co-Founder of the United Farm Workers, died at the age of 96.
Rep. María Isa Pérez-Vega (DFL – Saint Paul) released the following statement to commemorate and honor Dolore’s historic legacy.
“In my last conversation with Dolores Huerta she spoke words that will be forever engraved in my heart: ‘stay strong with faith and fight for our children always, Mija. Don’t let go of the Si Se Puede, fight for change and keep fighting La Lucha.’ She was a trail blazer who led with courage and centered the importance of the movement, always. She is an inspirational woman who I will continue to look to as I fight for our community and work to honor her legacy for decades to come. Gracias por tu lucha, Dolores.”
