School Safety Proposals

Bills:
HF3492 (Duran, Jr.) - Commissioner of education authorized to award school safety facility grants to schools to enhance safety for students and staff, Northern Lights Express funds cancelled, and money appropriated.
HF3493 (Lawrence) - Safe schools revenue increased; safe schools revenue available to charter schools, cooperative units, nonpublic schools, and Tribal contract schools made; and money appropriated.
HF3494 (Lawrence) - Safe schools aid for school districts, charter schools, and cooperative units created; student support personnel aid repealed; and money appropriated.
HF3495 (Duran, Jr.) - School safety grant eligibility expanded to nonpublic and Tribal contract schools, and money appropriated.
HF3602 (Curran) - Schools required to develop school safety plans, School Safety Advisory Council established, Minnesota School Safety Center funding provided, and money appropriated.

HF2433 (Youakim) Kindergarten through grade 12 education changes made; prekindergarten through grade 12 education funding provided; general education, education excellence, American Indian education, teachers, special education, facilities, school nutrition, libraries, early childhood, community education, and state agencies provisions modified; and money appropriated.

This is the Governor’s education budget bill, which will serve as a vehicle for the forecast adjustment bill. A DE1 Amendment is posted that reflects the forecast adjustment.

Testimony: Public Testimony will not be taken on the DE1 amendment.
