STATEMENT FROM REP. FRANSON ON EXTENSION OF STAY AT HOME ORDER, ALLOWING CURBSIDE RETAIL

ST. PAUL — Representative Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, issued the following statement regarding today's announcement that the stay at home order has been extended to May 18, while allowing more retail businesses to open with restrictions:

"I’ve heard from many small business owners who have been forced for weeks to close their doors, even though they are able to implement plans to safely serve customers just like the big box stores are allowed to. Our community is home to many businesses who simply cannot survive being shut down for several more weeks. I urge the governor to take that into account, and for those businesses that can operate safely, I hope he will allow them to open as soon as possible."
