Rep. Nadeau recognized as 2026 Legislator of Distinction
St. Paul - Rep. Danny Nadeau, R-Rogers, has been named a 2026 Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities for his work on issues affecting local governments and communities across the state.
“City leaders are on the front lines of many of the challenges facing our communities, and their input is essential when we’re making decisions at the Capitol,” Nadeau said. “I’m grateful for this recognition, but more importantly, I’m proud of the work we were able to accomplish by bringing local officials, legislators and other stakeholders together.”
During the 2026 legislative session, Nadeau worked closely with city officials on several issues affecting local governments. As a member of the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement, he helped protect the interests of Minnesota cities and build support for a working group focused on public safety duty disability.
Nadeau also helped advance reforms involving group assisted living facilities. The compromise legislation improved information sharing, strengthened local inspection authority and addressed concerns surrounding the colocation of facilities.
“Good legislation starts with listening to the people who are directly affected,” Nadeau said. “Cities need a strong voice at the Capitol, and I’ll continue working with local leaders to find practical solutions that protect residents and help communities succeed.”
The League’s annual Legislator of Distinction award recognizes lawmakers who work collaboratively with city officials and advocate for the interests of Minnesota communities.
