'Starting Line': In the top 10 percent? You're in

The college application process can be stressful for prospective students when applying for admission to their college or university of choice. What if there was a way to be automatically accepted to the school you want to attend?

Rep. Regina Barr (R-Inver Grove Heights) hopes her proposal gives some Minnesota high school graduates a chance to do just that. HF1878 would require the Minnesota State system to automatically admit students who graduate in the top 10 percent of their high school class. We learn why Rep. Barr decided to introduce this bill on this week’s Starting Line.
