Testimony: Bill authors must arrange their own testifiers and provide each testifier’s name, position title, and email address to the CA 24 hours in advance of the hearing. Written testimony is also encouraged and will be posted on the committee webpage prior to the meeting.

Amendments: All amendments that are substantive must be given to the CA by 1:00 PM on the day prior to the committee hearing. This deadline may be waived at the discretion of the Chair.

  • HF3721 (Coulter) - School-age care programs allowed to provide preschool care, and school-age care revenue increased.
  • HF3785 (Pérez-Vega) - Voluntary prekindergarten program modified.
  • HF4176 (Pérez-Vega) - Early learning programs modified.

Topic: Gun violence and the impact on children.

HF 4300 (Becker-Finn) Standards for safe storage of firearms and criminal penalties established for failing to meet those standards.

HF 601 (Her) Lost and stolen firearms required to be reported promptly to law enforcement.

* Public Testimony was taken during the 2023 session. We will not be taking additional in-person testimony. Written testimony can still be submitted to the Committee Administrator.

Written Testimony: The deadline to submit written testimony will be 12pm, Feb. 28th. All written testimony must be submitted in a PDF document without clickable links. All testimony should be sent to ellen.mcdaniel@house.mn.gov.

The Joint Committee hearing on Feb. 29th will be a ticketed event. The hearing will be broadcasted on the Minnesota House Live Webcast and Mobile Streaming. There will also be an overflow room.

This hearing will have remote testimony capability.

Items may be added or removed at the Chair’s discretion.

This hearing may be viewed on the House webcast schedule page. All video events are closed captioned with automatically generated captions.
