Week in Review: March 2-6

It was another week of fraud, gun violence and immigration as the caucuses continue to try pass their priority bills.

HF3395 or the “Fraud Isn’t Free Act,” which would create repercussions for state departments and staff if fraud occurs in a state program, failed to clear the House state government committee on a technicality in the power-sharing agreement.

The push to create an office of gun violence prevention at the Department of Health was laid over by the House health committee.

And in the House public safety committee, HF3405 failed on a party-line vote. It would have required the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate officer-involved deaths that result from a federal agent’s use of force.
